September 2005: Moose Mountain Regional Greenway Trail Party
It’s always fun to paint a pumpkin! Crafty nature lover Annie Robbins, whose passion for the environment is infectious, will teach kids what fun the outdoors can be, as they explore nature related crafts at the Moose Mountains Regional Greenways' Second Annual Trail Party taking place in Milton, NH on Saturday, September 25. In addition to the pumpkin painting, Annie’s Craft Corner will teach kids to make their own plant or animal print t-shirts, and will feature a special visit from Captain Puffin, Downeast Energy’s 6-foot tall puffin mascot. Other fun family activities include hayrides to the Salmon Falls River and pony rides.
“We hope that by funding Annie’s Craft Corner and having Captain Puffin on hand, we will help kids appreciate the precious greenways that the Moose Mountains region has for them to explore with their families,” said Downeast Energy’s Dover Manager, Marc Thebarge. “In addition to helping raise awareness of the wonderful conservation work done by Moose Mountains Regional Greenways, the Trail Days event can also help kids and families enjoy the outdoors together.”
The Trail Party will be held at Branch Hill Farm, a 3,000-acre farm in Milton Mills, NH. Take Spaulding Turnpike to Exit 18; follow signs to Route 125 South and Applebee Road. The cost is $5 per person, but free for kids 12 and under and current Moose Mountains Regional Greenways members. For more information, call 603-817-8260 or email info@mmrg.info.
