June 2008: Ugly Kitchen Contest
BRUNSWICK, MAINE, June 7, 2008 – Does your kitchen look like the one from “The Brady Bunch?” Is it in need of an extreme makeover? If so, you need to enter the “Ugly Kitchen Contest!” Downeast Kitchens has announced the launch of the “Ugly Kitchen Contest” as part of the company’s 100th anniversary celebration. The grand prize will be up to $10,000 in a spending spree to outfit a new kitchen and all you have to do is come into the Building Supply store at 18 Spring Street in Brunswick to pick up an entry form in the Downeast Kitchen showroom. Entrants will need to submit two photos of their ugly kitchen and a short essay of 100 words or fewer. The deadline to enter the contest is July 7, 2008. A panel of judges, designers selected by Downeast Kitchens, will review the entries (without knowing the names of the entrants) and select five finalists. The winner receives a grand prize of a new remodeled kitchen, a value of up to $10,000 which can include Diamond cabinets, countertops and a new sink/faucet. That winner will be determined by a random drawing from those five finalists on Thursday, July 17 at Downeast Kitchens in Brunswick between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. Entrants must attend event on July 17 to be eligible to win. The drawing will take place at 6:30 p.m. “We are extremely excited about this contest and the opportunity for our customers to create a gorgeous new kitchen for their home,” said Peter Bernier, vice president/general manager. “We hope that people will take advantage of our experienced kitchen design staff to help guide them through the project. They are extremely skilled and will make the experience exciting and fun.” All entrants must live within a 50 mile radius of the Downeast Building Supply store in Brunswick.
