July 2008: Ugly Kitchen Contest Winner
BRUNSWICK, MAINE, July 18, 2008 – Henry and Mary Korsiak of Harpswell, Maine, are the winners of Downeast Kitchens’ “Ugly Kitchen Contest”. The Korsiaks were chosen as the winner of the contest at an event last night at the Building Supply store in Brunswick. A panel of judges, designers selected by Downeast Kitchens, reviewed the 31 entries (with no knowledge of the entrant’s names) and selected five finalists. The winner was chosen by a random drawing. The Korsiak’s will receive the grand prize of a remodeled kitchen, a value of up to $10,000, which can include Diamond cabinets, countertops and a new sink/faucet. “We are really so thrilled to be the winners,” said Mary Kosiak. “We have lived in the same house for 24-years and when we moved in, we had two children and then we adopted three more. After that, we never had time to make improvements to the house.” Henry Korsiak added, “We would like to thank Downeast Kitchens for this opportunity and we’re looking forward to working with them.” “We are extremely excited that the Korsiaks will have the opportunity to renovate the kitchen in their home,” said Peter Bernier, vice president/general manager. “Our experienced kitchen design staff is ready to help guide them through the project and we are all looking forward to seeing the results.” Additional photos of the Korsiak’s winning submission to the Ugly Kitchen contest are available by contacting Angie Helton at 207-650-0365 or via email, nema@maine.rr.com.
