May 2009: Downeast Energy & Building Supply Announces Recipients of Their Scholarship Program
BRUNSWICK, MAINE, May 22, 2009 – Downeast Energy & Building Supply will award scholarships to seven high school seniors and graduates planning to enroll or already enrolled full-time at approved postsecondary community colleges in the career and technical programs for heating or building trades. Each scholarship is for $500 per academic year.
The recipients of this year’s scholarships are (in alphabetical order):
1. Nathan Elwell, a Farmington High School student who plans to attend Southern Maine Community College for Building Construction;
2. Nicolas Grover, who is currently attending Northern Maine Community College in their Building Construction program;
3. Tyler Moore, a Phippsburg resident who plans to attend Southern Maine Community College for Plumbing & Heating;
4. Samuel Perkins, from Athens, who is planning to attend Southern Maine Community College for Plumbing & Heating;
5. Nicholas Perry, from Morse High School, already enrolled at Southern Maine Community College in the Building Construction program;
6. Joshua Seigars from Wiscasset, who plans to attend Northern Maine Community College for Building Construction; and
7. Andrew Trask, a Farmington resident who is headed to Central Maine Community College for Building Construction.
Awards were based on a combination of selection factors including, but not limited to, scholastic merit and participation in extracurricular activities.
