June 2009: Downeast Energy & Building Supply Donates a Total of $20,000 to Two Charities from Its 16th Annual Golf Classic
BRUNSWICK, MAINE, June 9, 2008- Downeast Energy & Building Supply held its 16th Annual Downeast Energy Classic at the Brunswick Golf Club where more than 140 golfers participated, all teeing up for a good cause. Family Focus and Tedford Housing, both serving the Mid Coast area, were the beneficiaries of this year’s tournament. Family Focus combines child care for working parents with early learning opportunities in safe, attractive settings. “Given the economic climate, we depend on good friends like Downeast Energy to help us provide these important services while also educating the community about the needs of our clients,” said Sheila Youmans, Executive Director of Family Focus. “We are grateful to have the support of Downeast Energy to help us continue our mission.” Tedford Housing is the primary agency providing shelter and services to families and individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in mid coast Maine. “Downeast Energy has always been a wonderful partner, a great supporter of our work and we really appreciate being apart of this golf event”, said Don Kniseley, Executive Director of Tedford Housing.” The Downeast Golf Classic was directly responsible for donating $10,000 to each charity for a total of $20,000.
