September 2009: DOWNEAST ENERGY & BUILDING SUPPLY DONATES $50,000 TO HEAT ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS IN MAINE AND SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE
BRUNSWICK, MAINE, September 22, 2009 –Downeast Energy & Building Supply, a more than 100 year old family owned business, announced they are donating $50,000 to heat assistance programs in Maine and Southern New Hampshire.
“As a company we have always believed that it is our responsibility to be good neighbors and to help our neighbors in need,” said John Peters, President of Downeast Energy & Building Supply. “This donation will be used to help those in need who may not qualify for assistance from the government but still need help to survive the cold season.”
The money from Downeast Energy is being allocated to more than 15 organizations including Tri-Valley United Way, York County Community Action, United Way of Kennebec Valley, Town of South Portland Heat Assistance Program, Town of Freeport and Rockland Heat Assistance Fund.
