January 2010: Downeast Energy & Building Supply Announces New Vice President of Energy Sales

BRUNSWICK, MAINE, January 8, 2010 – Mike McCormack of Downeast Energy & Building Supply has been promoted to Vice President of Energy Sales. McCormack has been with the company for 20 years and most recently was Vice President of Regional Operations for the company.

“We feel it is imperative to focus additional resources to our energy sales,” said John Peters, President of Downeast Energy. “The Maine market is extremely competitive and our future depends on increasing our market share while also exploring new energy initiatives. Mike’s background and experience make him uniquely qualified to provide sales direction and leadership to our team of energy advisors and liquid product sales associates, and work directly with the marketing department to support sales initiatives. His 20 year tenure here in increasingly responsible positions will allow him to have maximum impact in a very short time.”

McCormack started at Downeast Energy in 1990 as salesperson for the South Portland/Yarmouth location. His role included some marketing duties. In October of 1992 he took on the role of Heating Manager making him responsible for all drivers, service technicians, dispatchers and sales people. McCormack was promoted in 1994 to Director of Sales and nine years later to the Vice President of Regional Operations.

Doug Morrell, Vice President at Downeast Energy added, “Since 2003 Mike has done an excellent job overseeing our seven southern locations and we are confident that he will bring the same enthusiasm and excellent track record to this new position.”
