January 2010: Downeast Energy & Building Supply Hires New Manager of Inventory Planning and Supply

BRUNSWICK, MAINE, January 28, 2010 – Downeast Energy & Building Supply is pleased to announce that a Maine native has relocated from California for a newly created position. Sharon Zylla recently moved from California back to her home town of Lisbon to become the Manager of Inventory Planning and Supply for Downeast.

“We are very pleased to have someone as experienced as Sharon to be leading the way in this new position,” said Steve McGrath, Chief Financial Officer for Downeast. “We wanted more focus on our cost accounting and she brings knowledge from her work with national companies such as Gillette that will help us become more efficient.”

The new position manages the inventory supply and contracts, overseeing the accounts payable department, monitoring inventory cost and provides additional analysis.

Zylla started her career at Gillette in Boston and was relocated to California for the company. She also worked for Guess Jeans as cost accounting manager and most recently was working in the Gulf Stream division for General Dynamics as accounting manager in Long Beach, California.

“My family and I wanted to move back home to Maine and this opportunity arose with Downeast Energy and it seemed like a perfect fit,” said Sharon Zyla, Manager of Inventory Planning and Supply. “This family owned business is well-established with good community values and I am thrilled to be apart of the team and to be back home in Maine.”

Zylla resides in Lisbon with her husband and two children.
