February 2010: Downeast Energy Lisbon Falls Office Awarded Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce Business Award
BRUNSWICK, MAINE, FEBRUARY 1, 2010 - The Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce has awarded the Lisbon Falls office of Downeast Energy with the “Lisbon Business Award.” This award is presented to a local business that has contributed to the economy and has projected a positive image for the town of Lisbon.

“We are thrilled to receive this award from the Androscoggin County Chamber,” said Rob Wilkes, General Manager of the Lisbon Falls office for Downeast Energy. “This Chamber has more than one thousand members and to be recognized as a company that gives back to the community, which is one of our missions as a business, is an unbelievable honor for all of us here at the office.”

The award was presented at the Chamber’s Annual meeting in Lewiston last week.

Chip Morrison, President of the Androscoggin Chamber of Commerce added, “Downeast Energy has been a fixture in downtown Lisbon Falls for 25 years and has continued to be a generous community partner for the area. Their business philosophy of giving back has helped many children’s causes as well as fuel assistance for low income families. We are proud to have Downeast Energy apart of our Chamber.”

Downeast Energy has contributed to many community programs including Sweetser’s Toy Drive with employees donating more than 400 toys, the company sponsor’s youth sports in the area, contributes to the Arts and Education at LA Arts, and helps raise money for the local United Way.
