Our use of "cookies"

Security

Our online experience is a secure one. We use Public Key Encryption with digital certificate authentication. All personal information, including credit card information, is processed using the 128-bit SSL encryption protocol.

DowneastEnergy.com implements a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information. Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of "security cleared" DowneastEnergy.com employees who have special access rights to these systems. When you place orders, or access your personal information, we offer the use of a secure server. All sensitive and credit card information supplied by you is transmitted by Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and is then encrypted into DowneastEnergy.com's database.

When you give your credit card number it is sent to us over secure lines. It is not stored in a database, so unauthorized people cannot retrieve it. In addition, when you give it to us you can choose whether we keep it on file for repeat use or destroy it after using it once. If we destroy it you will need to give it to us each time you ask us to use it.
